Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get one of the ketubas I've seen on this site?

All of my art is one-of-a-kind. In other words, I don't have prints or copies of any of the artwork you see here. However, if there is something you like, we can use that as a starting point for a design.

Can you calligraph a poem or other item for me?

Yes. I can also add illustrations. Contact me for a quote.

Is your artwork done on a computer?

No, each work is unique—lettered and illustrated entirely using my two hands only.

How do I work with you if I don't live in Chicago?

Not a problem! I actually don't meet face to face with about half of my clients.

Initial consultations take place over the phone. I can send sketches for approval via email.

What media do you work with? Do you use archival paper?

I work only on archival-quality acid free paper. I primarily work in goache, an opaque watercolor.

How much do your ketubas cost?

Ketubas starts at about $800 for a text-only ketuba and go up based on complexity of the design. If you have a specific budget, please let me know.

Like anything else, you pay for quality, for my twenty plus years of experience, my ideas and of course my time.

When you invest in a ketuba that I create, you get a one-of-a-kind artwork that nobody else has. Your custom ketuba contains the colors, theme, symbols, quotations that make it special to you.

Finally, you'll have a high-quality artwork that you can hang proudly in your home.

How do I pay for a ketuba?

I prefer to be paid by check, but I can also accept credit cards via Paypal online (Paypal account required).

How soon can I have a ketuba after I agree to work with you?

Generally, I can deliver a ketuba within 6–8 weeks. I can do rush jobs at a slightly higher cost.

Do you do envelopes?

No, I don't do envelopes.

Is there a contract? What does it specify?

I have a simple contract that I use. It has a payment schedule, due dates, etc.
